Formerly housed 560 AM WFIL, back when it was the most listened to top 40 station in Philadelphia in the 60's and 70's. "Famous 56" WFIL radio and it's "Boss Jocks" was very influential in the radio business, that there were many sound-alike stations across the country.
WPVI-TV 6 used to be WFIL-TV until the 1970's.
Channel 6's "Action News" format was originated here in 1970, and also duplicated all over the country.
